About Tas-SANG

Tas-SANG grows aged wild American ginseng roots. (Panax quinquefolius), which is an endangered ginseng species. We grow in Tasmania, Australia; our valuable unique ginseng roots are now 21 years old; some of the oldest ginseng and rare heaviest ginseng roots in the world.

Grown in the pristine clean and green state of Tasmania, Australia. Clean as there is no pollution and green as farmers use the best organic and sustainable practices. Tasmanians breathe some of the world's cleanest air and drink the purest water. Unpolluted coastal seas and rich, fertile soils enable them to produce the finest foods.

Our wild simulated ginseng roots are grown on old flood plain sandy loams which are free draining soils that do not need cultivation.

Grown under a forest of Silver Wattle trees (Acacia dealbata) which are legumes. These drop their leaves and produce the perfect mulch for the ginseng; a nutritive rich mulch and a protective weed suppressing and water retaining cover.

We use only organically approved methods of culture in a wild simulated environment. We do not use any synthetic fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides or pesticides.

Tas-SANG is registered as an organically certified grower by NASAA (National Association For Agriculture Australia). NASAA is the most reputable organic association in Australia and is fully recongised internationally.

Our world unique plants are now 21 year old ginseng roots and at least the 4 prong stage of growth. Some are the rare 5 or 6 prong ginseng plants.

Tas-SANG ginseng roots have classic wild features – every root is uniquely different with gnarled, forked and twisted roots, many with 'pearls'.

The ginsengoside levels have been tested using HPLC analysis at RMIT, Melbourne, Australia. Levels are all well above average.

International trade in whole ginseng roots is protected by C.I.T.E.S (Convention on the International Trade of Endangered Species, Appendix II). Tas-SANG has been approved under the Artificial Propagation Program by the Department of Sustainability, Water, Population and Communities; Australian Government. We are therefore able to apply for a C.I.T.E.S. export ginseng permit.
